3 Signs You Need Drain Cleaning Services
July 10, 2024

Maintaining your plumbing system should be a top priority as a homeowner. Plumbing problems can get really bad really fast. Plumbing issues always get worse with time if you opt to ignore them too. A residential plumber can help you with most plumbing issues such as drain problems. 10% of United States households have leaks in their plumbing that can waste up to 90 gallons of water per day, according to the EPA. You need to be aware of the signs that you might need drain cleaning or repairs. Here are a few things to look out for.

1. Slow Moving Drains

One of the first signs that you need drain services is slow-moving drains. Slow-moving drains indicate that there is a clog developing in your drain. It can sometimes be a sign of septic tank problems too, but a residential plumber will usually look into your drains for clogs first. If you don’t have slow-moving drains serviced quickly, the clog will get worse over time. It will eventually result in a fully clogged drain that won’t empty at all.

2. Clogged Drains

Once drains are fully clogged, you won’t be able to use that particular sink or shower. This can also affect your toilet as well. You shouldn’t attempt to clear severely clogged drains yourself. You could damage the drain or pipes. It’s best to call in residential plumbers to help with this problem.

3. Strange Smells

Another sign that you might need drain cleaning services would be strange smells coming up from your drains. Strange smells could indicate a few different things. It could indicate that there is something lodged in the drain that needs to be removed. This might not be clogging the drain necessarily but it’s there moldering and needs removal. Plumbers can help.

Another problem could be issues with your septic tank. When septic tanks are having a hard time draining properly, it can start to create gasses that move up your drains. These gasses smell bad. You’ll want to call in a professional plumber to evaluate the problem. If you do have sewer issues, you’ll need to have that fixed immediately. Septic tank and sewer problems always get worse with time and are usually very expensive to fix.

These are just a few signs that you might need drain cleaning services. If you’re looking for a
